Queens County Food Bank Donation Drop Off Site
There will be a donation drop box for the Queens County Food Bank at the Town Hall Arts and Cultural Centre at 219 Main Street, Liverpool. Non-perishable food donations will be collected in the main lobby and donated to the Food Bank.
Efficiency Nova Scotia Holiday LED Light Exchange
Efficiency Nova Scotia Holiday LED Light Exchange will take place in Liverpool Friday, December 4th from 5-6pm, in front of Liverpool Home Hardware, Main Street Liverpool. Bring two sets of old incandescent holiday lights and receive one set of LED Holiday lights.
** Please note that this year, there is a limit of ONE set of LED lights per Family **
Physical Activity in a Box: Loan Program
Did you know that the Recreation Department has a variety of equipment for loan? GPS system, Nordic walking poles, parachutes, ladder golf and flag football set. There is a refundable deposit required upon pick-up, items will be loaned to those 19 years and older. Call the Recreation Department for more information!
KidSport is a national children's program that helps children overcome the financial barriers preventing or limiting their participation in organized sport. The KidSport program believes that no child should be left on the sidelines and all should be given the opportunity to experience the positive benefits of organized sports. KidSport provides support to children in order to remove financial barriers that prevent them from playing organized sport. KidSport Nova Scotia provides funding of up to $300/year/child for sport registration and/or equipment. The next deadline for funding is January 1st, 2016. The Canadian Tire Jumpstart program is a national charitable program that helps financially disadvantaged children participate in organized sport and recreation. The Jumpstart program believes that “the answer to ‘can I play’….should always be yes!”. The Jumpstart program provides funding for registration fees and equipment, and there is no application deadline for funding.
