2014 Holiday Light Exchange
Make your holidays merry and bright at the 10th Anniversary of the Efficiency Nova Scotia Holiday Light Exchange. Bring two sets of traditional lights, and exchange for 1 set of new LED lights! Limit of one exchange per person; quantities are limited.
See you on Dec. 5 at 5:30 p.m.!
** please note that there are a number of activities going on that evening with Christmas on the Mersey -- the tree lighting at the Town Hall will be taking place at 6 pm , followed by Parade of Lights in which people will walk across the Bridge to reassemble on the lawn at Lane's Privateer Inn at approximately 6:25 p.m.
Physical Activity in a Box: Loan Program
Did you know that the Recreation Department has a variety of equipment for loan? GPS system, Nordic walking poles, flag football and Ladder Golf Set. There is a refundable deposit required upon pick-up, items will be loaned to those 19 years and older. Call the Recreation Department for more information!
KidSport is a national children's program that helps children overcome the financial barriers preventing or limiting their participation in organized sport. The KidSport program believes that no child should be left on the sidelines and all should be given the opportunity to experience the positive benefits of organized sports. KidSport provides support to children in order to remove financial barriers that prevent them from playing organized sport. KidSport Nova Scotia provides funding of up to $300/year/child for sport registration and/or equipment. The next deadline for funding is January 1st, 2015. The Canadian Tire Jumpstart program is a national charitable program that helps financially disadvantaged children participate in organized sport and recreation. The Jumpstart program believes that “the answer to ‘can I play’….should always be yes!”. The Jumpstart program provides funding of up to $300/child/per application for registration fees and equipment. The next deadline for funding is May 18th, 2015.
