Enjoy the sights, sounds and pageantry of the Royal Nova Scotia International Tattoo.
Date: Thursday, July 3rd, 2014, Departure: 3:00 p.m., Liverpool – show time is 7:30 p.m.
Tickets: $75.00 each until the pre-registration date of May 16th, 2014 (Ticket payments received after May 16th will be $82.00 each)
Maximum registration: 54 people, minimum requirement: 48 people
Transportation: Fully appointed air conditioned motor coach.
** Supper will be at Swiss Chalet, and is not included in the ticket price

Volunteer Income Tax Program for Residents of Queens County
The Recreation Department will once again be making appointments for the Free Volunteer Income Tax Program, operated by community volunteers, and provided at no charge. Appointments will be scheduled on Monday evenings between 7:00 – 9:00 p.m. at Cook & Sons Financial, and Friday afternoons between 1:00 – 4:30 p.m. at the T.H. Raddall Library. Appointments will continue until mid April. For more information about the program, or to make an appointment, please call 354-5741. Please note that appointments are required as this is not a drop in service.
Physical Activity in a Box: Loan Program
Did you know that the Recreation Department has a variety of equipment for loan? We have snow shoes, GPS system, Nordic walking poles and igloo making kits. There is a refundable deposit required upon pick-up, items will be loaned to those 19 years and older. Call the Recreation Department for more information!
KidSport is a national children's program that helps children overcome the financial barriers preventing or limiting their participation in organized sport. The KidSport program believes that no child should be left on the sidelines and all should be given the opportunity to experience the positive benefits of organized sports. KidSport provides support to children in order to remove financial barriers that prevent them from playing organized sport. KidSport Nova Scotia provides funding of up to $300/year/child for sport registration and/or equipment. The next deadline for funding is May 1st, 2014. The Canadian Tire Jumpstart program is a national charitable program that helps financially disadvantaged children participate in organized sport and recreation. The Jumpstart program believes that “the answer to ‘can I play’….should always be yes!”. The Jumpstart program provides funding of up to $300/child/per application for registration fees and equipment. The next deadline for funding is May 16th, 2014.
